Princess is continuing with Teaching Textbooks for math. She has also been going through a new book called Write From Ancient History by Kimberly D. Garcia, which she is really enjoying! (There will be a review coming soon!) Write From Ancient History has taken the place of her Sonlight language arts for now, but she will be continuing with Sonlight in the new year, using a mix of Sonlight and Write From Ancient HIstory for language arts. For now, I did not want to overwhelm her as we are trying some new things and doing so many Christmas activities.
Little Man has mostly been using an online program called K5 Learning. We were given a six week free trial in return for a review and it has gone well! I have discovered that Little Man loves doing school on the computer! The girls have been doing some as well, but he is the one who enjoys it the most.
Munchkin has mostly been doing the activities from Celebrate Jesus and Why I Give. She loves the colouring pictures and it is nice to be able to put the pictures in her work box so she has something to do when I am busy with so many other things.
The kids performed their play for the Sunday School Christmas production last night, and I must say they all did a wonderful job! All the children in the production have been working really hard with several practices each week! The play was called We Three Spies. The children were CIK's (Christmas spies). The CIKs spend the month of December bringing Christmas cheer to those who need it, in secret, of course. They get involved in a Christmas play that Miss. Harriot King is trying to shut down, and in the end, save the play and do a great service for their community, while helping Miss. King understand the importance of Christmas and why we give gifts at Christmas time. Here are a few pictures from the play for your viewing pleasure :) (My apologies for the poor qualities of the photos! My camera doesn't do well in poor lighting and from a distance.)
