If there is one thing you should know about me and our homeschool it's that I am no good at sticking to the curriculum. Even though one reason I chose Apologia's Exploring Creation series is because they have so many fun, hands-on activities to go with the lessons, I am still always looking for more activities to do with the kids. Not all the activities we have done are found in the book. Many of them are extra activities I have pinned on Pinterest and have just been waiting for such a time to use them.
Vascular Plants: Veins
Non Vascular Plants: Moss
Moss can not handle bright light so it needs to be put somewhere where it does not get direct sunlight. The kids have been wanting plants in their bedrooms, but because our bedrooms are all in the basement and they don't get much sunlight in there and they have not been able to keep plants in their rooms before. Moss makes a perfect plant for them to keep in their bedrooms! After we did the first terrarium the kids decided that they each wanted their own moss terrarium for their rooms.
Once the moss was nestled in it's new homes, Princess drew a picture of moss in her Junior Notebooking Journal that we got with the curriculum. (Munchkin also wants a Junior Notebooking Journal, but I have to order hers, so she does not have it yet.)
