Originally we bought what was supposed to be a male and a female so we could breed them. What I did not know at the time we bought them was that it is really, really difficult to tell the difference between the sexes when a rabbit is only six weeks old. While trying to sex our baby bunnies when it was time to wean them I thought that looking at the adult rabbits would help me determine the sex of the babies. That was when I discovered that our "male" rabbit is actually a female! Oops! (One of our rabbits was pregnant when we got her, which is why we had baby bunnies already.) It will be hard to breed rabbits with two females! So, we got another rabbit and this time we got an older one that is definitely a male. His name is Mr. Snuggles and he belongs to Little Man, since our original two bunnies belong to the girls. Although Little Man was not interested in owning his own bunny when we first started our bunny business, he is now excited about his Mr. Suggles.
One day I was in the house and decided to take my camera outside to take some pictures of the kid's forts. When I got out of the house I called to the kids to find out where they were. When I heard them they were yelling, "Help! We're stuck!" "Get us out!" I went running towards their voices and the picture below is what I saw. Little Man had locked the girls in the first two compartments, locked the door to the third compartment and then crawled into the hutch through the nest box. (I'm still not sure how he even fit through the nest box!) Unfortunately for him, the nest box locked behind him and he was not able to get back out! I must confess that when I got there and found out what had happened it took me awhile to get them out because I was laughing so hard :)
