My 8 year old Princess loves anything creative! In a previous post I wrote about how she started taking a cake decorating course at Bulk Barn. She LOVES it!!! My next few posts will be about what she learned in the rest of the course.

Wacky Sacks are a fun and easy craft to do with Munchkin, and it has been one of her best sellers too! I first saw the idea on Pinterest in a couple of places. You can see the original posts here and here.
We chose the playdough version because I had visions of using cornstarch and having a wacky sack break... Not a pretty picture! Plus, if the wacky sack does break, you still have playdough to play with :) The kids also had a lot of fun playing with the playdough in the process of making the wacky sacks! (Playing with playdough is great for strengthening those fine motor skills!) I am back from a lovely fall camping trip with my family and ready to get back into blogging! Here is the continuation of My Crafty Kids series. One of the first things Princess learned how to do for her Princess Accessories business, after beading, was how to make clay jewelry. At craft sales Princess could often be found at Elaine’s Too Aquarius table. Elaine not only makes her own clay beads and jewelry, but she also teaches classes on how to work with clay. Unfortunately we live too far from the city to come in every week to take her classes, but she was kind enough to show Princess how to do things while we were at craft sales. She also spent quite a bit of time explaining things to me through emails.
One of Munchkin’s best sellers at the kid's craft sales has been her plantable greeting cards. I found the idea on Pinterest and decided it was not only a fun craft and gift idea, but I could use it to make dot-to-dot connections with some homeschool science lessons too.
Little Man sells rocks. His business is called Rock Treasures. (To learn more about his, and his sisters businesses, you can find my other posts on my Pinterest board: My Crafty Kids Series.) The newest rock project he has been working on is a really great connecting the dots project for our homeschool! He is making alphabet rocks.
Disclaimer: The opinions in this post are completely my own and I am not being compensated for them in any way. My Crafty Kids series to tell you about my oldest daughter's newest creative endeavor. This one is not a craft. This time it's cake decorating!
I am interrupting the My 8 year old is amazingly creative and started her own jewelry making business when she was only 5 years old. If you want to know more about how she started her Princess Accessories business, you can find my post about it here. If you are interested in knowing more about what her 4 and 6 year old siblings are doing with their businesses, you can find my posts about her brother’s Rock Treasures business and her sister’s crafts at the attached links. You won’t want to miss out on the rest of this series either, starting with my post on our first fall craft sale.
Today I want to tell you about how Princess started making headbands, and show you how to do what she has been doing. Munchkin is only 4 years old, but she does not want to be left out when it is time for her older brother and sister to go to craft sales. (You can read about my other daughter’s Princess Accessories business and my son’s Rock Treasures business in my other posts.) I had to come up with some kind of business for Munchkin so she could be involved too. She loves all crafts and she is always colouring, painting, cutting or gluing something, so I started looking for crafts that she could do, that other people might actually be interested in buying.
In our homeschool we like to work with our children’s interests and do activities that teach the kids the importance of applying what they have learned in real life. One way we have done that is to help our children each start their own business. I started taking my oldest daughter to craft sales to sell the jewelry she made three years ago. Since then the other two have also begun their own businesses. Today I am going to start a series, showing you my children’s businesses and some of the crafts that my children have been making and selling.
It seems that wherever we go, we bring home rocks. All of my kids enjoy collecting rocks, but our Little Man enjoys it so much that we have turned his love of rocks into a business for him. It is called Rock Treasures.
