Hi! My name is Missy. I'm a Christian, homeschool mom and wife of a homeschool graduate. I had never even heard of homeschooling until I met my husband, but now homeschooling my children is my biggest passion! (You can read about why we homeschool here.) I love to share what we are doing in our homeschool and help and encourage others in their homeschool journey too!
Have you ever drawn a dot-to-dot picture? With every dot you connect, you get closer to seeing the bigger picture, the real picture. That is what I feel like our life is like. Whether we are working together in the garden, worshiping our Creator at church, shopping in the store or sitting at the kitchen table doing a school project, it's all about learning. Learning through the teachable moments! Learning about life! Making Dot-to-Dot Connections! Come along with us on our exciting dot-to-dot adventure as we learn in our homeschool!
Let me introduce you to my fellow adventurers on this homeschool journey.
My husband is a homeschool graduate who works for a farmer. He is the best husband and father I could have ever imagined! It really is amazing what he puts up with around here with our crazy homeschool life :) He is my biggest supporter and encourager on this homeschool journey!
Our oldest daughter, Princess, is 9 years old. As her nickname suggests, she is our princess. She loves anything pink, glittery and pretty, whether it is dresses, jewelry, flowers or dolls. She loves music and has been dancing and singing from the day she was born. She is also an incredible help around here! She loves to work in the kitchen and the garden and is (usually) really good with helping take care of her younger siblings.
Little Man is 7 years old, and ALL boy! He loves dinosaurs, machines, rocks, bugs, reptiles, amphibians and balls. He also loves bikes and is often found helping his grandpa fix one up in the shop or yelling, "Mom, watch this!" as he does something on his bike that makes me want to close my eyes and pray for his safety. He is also my little comforter. If I am sick or having a bad day he is the one most likely to hug me or bring me a blanket.
Munchkin is our youngest, at 5 years old. She is our little bundle of joy. She loves animals and babies. She is the only one of my children who actually likes to colour and do workbooks. She also loves to copy her older siblings and can often be found following them around, trying to do whatever they are doing. When she's not following them, she is my little helper.
I am so thankful to God for my family! As the Bible says, children truly are a blessing from the Lord!

Connecting the Dots is the name of one of our favourite songs, and we've adopted it as our school song.

Lyrics for Connecting the Dots
by Bobs & Lolo
Why do trees grow tall?
What makes a pebble so small? Where does the wind go on a sunny, cloudless day? Why is the grass so green? What makes a river not a stream? Where do the stars hide out when nighttime fades away? Chorus It’s all about connecting the dots It’s all about learning a lot It’s all about asking the questions and finding the way It’s all about connecting the dots It’s all about using what you’ve got It’s all about adventure, exploring each and every day Connecting the dots |
Why’s there one moon not two?
What makes the sky so blue? Where do the raindrops go when puddles disappear? Why do plants grow up not down? What makes the thundering sound? Where does the heat go when the sun’s not here? Chorus Bridge Questions all around us Puzzles from sea to sky A riddle under every rock Asking what and where and why We can find the answers And how we all connect Adventures all around us What will we discover next? |
