We try to teach our girls to dress modestly - but how do you get a very active little girl to remember that she should not stand on her head when she is wearing a skirt? As Princess has gotten older, she has learned that when a certain uncle comes to visit, she needs to wear pants...
Summer is easier, they just don't wear socks! Except that sometimes they forget to put shoes on too - like the time we drove an hour and a half for a day in the city. When the kids got out of the van and stepped onto the city sidewalk I told Little Man to put his shoes back on. He informed me that he had left his shoes at home...
The four year old can dress herself, so I sometimes forget that she still needs a little help - until we get to the store or the library and I realize that her shirt is inside out and her pants are on backwards...
And pants on little boys - how on earth do you keep a very active little boy in pants that do not have holes or patches in them? And how do I convince him that his favourite pants that have been patched twice already and now have holes through the patches, are not suitable to wear to church?
