Munchkin is only 4 years old, but she does not want to be left out when it is time for her older brother and sister to go to craft sales. (You can read about my other daughter’s Princess Accessories business and my son’s Rock Treasures business in my other posts.) I had to come up with some kind of business for Munchkin so she could be involved too. She loves all crafts and she is always colouring, painting, cutting or gluing something, so I started looking for crafts that she could do, that other people might actually be interested in buying.

In our homeschool we like to work with our children’s interests and do activities that teach the kids the importance of applying what they have learned in real life. One way we have done that is to help our children each start their own business. I started taking my oldest daughter to craft sales to sell the jewelry she made three years ago. Since then the other two have also begun their own businesses. Today I am going to start a series, showing you my children’s businesses and some of the crafts that my children have been making and selling.
It seems that wherever we go, we bring home rocks. All of my kids enjoy collecting rocks, but our Little Man enjoys it so much that we have turned his love of rocks into a business for him. It is called Rock Treasures.
Our Princess opened her first business when she was 5 years old! We had discovered that she loved beading and she was constantly making bead bracelets and necklaces. She gave them away as gifts at first, but her grandmas only needed so many bead bracelets! At that time I was selling Usborne Books and was going to a lot of craft and trade shows. I decided to let her bring some of her bead jewelry and sell it from a corner of my table. We made her a cute sign and even business cards.
