Munchkin, our preschooler, loves animals of all kinds, but her favourites are definitely farm animals! (She is a true farm girl!) She is also my only child who really loves doing book work and work sheets. When the other two were preschool age, we mostly played and if they learned something, great, if not, that was okay. Also, if we did not do any school, it was not a big deal because they were not ready for it anyway. Munchkin is completely different! She wants to do school every day, all the time! She is quick to tell me when her work box is empty and ask if I can give her more school work to do! So, we started a new unit study on animals, consisting mostly of things I can find to keep her busy while I am working with her brother and sister.

For our homeschool science we have been studying the stars! I love the stars! It is not unknown for us to bundle up and go outside late at night to watch the stars, especially when there is a special show on :) God really does the best fireworks shows!
Do you have a dolphin lover in your family? We do. Princess LOVES dolphins! We did a unit study to help her learn about dolphins, but we also use her interest to help her keep learning all the time and having fun while we do it :)
This year my children are in preschool, grade one and grade three. I have found two things that help me teach multiple ages and still keep my sanity intact; unit studies and work boxes.
Earlier this month I told you that we are reading through the Little House series in our homeschool. We have now finished reading Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. While I read, the kids worked on our Little House lapbook binder. As I show you what we did, I will link to where you can find the same printables that we used. Just click on the purple words and it will take you to my Pinterest pins.
We started a project that I have been looking forward to for years! We are reading through the Little House on the Prairie series in our homeschool!
