The kids and I have so many projects on the go right now that it's hard to keep it all straight sometimes! I have shared some of our projects with you before. As they are ongoing projects, I thought I would show you how they are progressing.

Last week I took a break from blogging. Since it was Easter, I called it my Easter break :) This post is heavy on the pictures, as I promised to take lots of pictures to show you why I was too busy to blog last week :) We had a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy our pictures too!
I love creation science, but have so much to learn about it! I enjoy learning along with my children and one great resource I have found for helping us learn about science from a biblical perspective is Creation Science 4 Kids. Cheri Fields, the author / publisher of Creation Science 4 Kids, has a knack for making creation science easier for people like my kids and I to understand! I enjoy reading her posts and I asked her if she would be willing to do a guest post so I could share what she has to say with you :) I hope you enjoy her post and take the time to visit her blog to see what other great things she has to say!
With the crazy busy week we are having here, I'm going to take a break from the blog. Hopefully I will remember to take lots of pictures to share with you when I come back :) Next week you can look forward to a guest post from Cheri Fields from Creation Science 4 Kids! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you should head over and see the great things she has to share!
Have a blessed Easter! I have never done a food post on here before, (other than food like China-shaped cookies). I see lots of recipes and pictures of food on other blogs, but I am just not into that. At least not normally. Today, you will see pictures of food on my blog, and I will tell you how yummy the food was when we ate it :) Most of all, I will tell you all about how my kids made the food, not me! (Make sure you read all the way to the end to see the great giveaway we have for you too!)
For our homeschool science we have been studying the stars! I love the stars! It is not unknown for us to bundle up and go outside late at night to watch the stars, especially when there is a special show on :) God really does the best fireworks shows!
The most encouraging thing that happened to me as a young writer was meeting a man who was actually a published author. He was a friend of my grandparent's and when I was in Toronto visiting my (other) grandparents, this author agreed to meet with me and let me interview him and write an article about him for our local paper.
Maybe not every aspiring writer will be able to meet and be encouraged by a published author, but I want to offer you the next best thing :) I want to share with you advice from published authors that I have been blessed to get to know since I started blogging. A few weeks ago I shared with you an author interview with the author of Asia: It's People and History by Bonnie Rose Hudson. Now I want to share with you an author interview with the author of Star Chronicles: A Bible-Based Study of the Stars, Dawnita Fogleman. (My review of Dawnita's book, Star Chronicles will be coming soon.) My husband and I both try to make sure we spend one-on-one time with each of our children. When I take just one of the kids with me, I call it a "date". The kids love having one parent all to themselves once in awhile, and I love being able to focus on just one child at a time sometimes. Our dates are always a special time for both me and whichever child is with me.
Princess and I both love flowers and working in the garden, which I seem to have inherited from my own mom. My mom told me about a great opportunity for us to start getting our hands in the dirt earlier than usual. R & R Greenhouse and Gardens near Limerick, Saskatchwan offers workshops where you can go and get an early start on your spring gardening! Princess and I signed up for the Plant Your Own Hanging Baskets workshop and went to play in the dirt :) |
