What do I mean that we become unschoolers? For us it means that we do not use workbooks or any curriculum over the summer. But that does not mean that the children are not learning anything! The summer is the best time for teachable moments and real-life learning!
Summer is a great time for science experiments too! Exploding things is much less stressful outside ;) Last summer we made a pop bottle ecosystem with water, weeds and snails from our yard. The only thing we bought were the guppies. (Amazingly, we still have two of those guppies! They are now in a fish tank.)
Summer is such a busy time for us and I know that I will not have as much time for blogging. A year ago I did not have a blog, so this will be my first time blogging through the summer. When I started blogging, I decided to try to publish posts about three times a week. For the summer I will probably only post once a week. My posts might be different too. I don't think I will have time for reviews and as I said, we kind of become unschoolers for the summer, so I will be sharing about different things. There will be more posts about things like our Ant Factory. I am looking forward to sharing with you about the fun things we will do this summer! Summer is my favourite time to homeschool! :)
