Spring seems to have finally come to Saskatchewan! With the warmer weather comes all sorts of wonderful learning opportunities and teachable moments that we don't get at other times of the year. Continue reading to see three reasons why I love homeschooling on the farm in spring.

The kids and I have so many projects on the go right now that it's hard to keep it all straight sometimes! I have shared some of our projects with you before. As they are ongoing projects, I thought I would show you how they are progressing.
Last week I took a break from blogging. Since it was Easter, I called it my Easter break :) This post is heavy on the pictures, as I promised to take lots of pictures to show you why I was too busy to blog last week :) We had a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy our pictures too!
My husband and I both try to make sure we spend one-on-one time with each of our children. When I take just one of the kids with me, I call it a "date". The kids love having one parent all to themselves once in awhile, and I love being able to focus on just one child at a time sometimes. Our dates are always a special time for both me and whichever child is with me.
Princess and I both love flowers and working in the garden, which I seem to have inherited from my own mom. My mom told me about a great opportunity for us to start getting our hands in the dirt earlier than usual. R & R Greenhouse and Gardens near Limerick, Saskatchwan offers workshops where you can go and get an early start on your spring gardening! Princess and I signed up for the Plant Your Own Hanging Baskets workshop and went to play in the dirt :) One of Munchkin’s best sellers at the kid's craft sales has been her plantable greeting cards. I found the idea on Pinterest and decided it was not only a fun craft and gift idea, but I could use it to make dot-to-dot connections with some homeschool science lessons too.
Homeschooling is a lifestyle for us and we try to use everything we do as an opportunity to teach the children, even over the summer months when we don't have much of a school routine. Let me show you some of what we did in summer school this year!
