I just want to let you know that I probably won't be on here as much in the summer. We usually finish our formal schooling by the time my husband starts seeding. The rest of the spring and summer we get really busy and we become unschoolers :)
I told you about our trip to the Discover the Farm Exotic Animal Sale and how we brought home two pet rabbits. Now it is time to up-date you on how those rabbits have become an amazing homeschool project! Let's call it Operation Population :)
Do you have any LEGO lovers in your house? My kids love LEGO! With each birthday and Christmas the goes by, their collection continues to grow as it is something that my husband and I are both happy to encourage. There are so many benefits to playing with LEGO! Let me share with you one way we are using LEGO in our homeschool.
Yesterday when I was in the city I bought a Mini Ant Factory for the kids! It is made by GeoSafari and is the smaller version of their full-size Ant Factory, but it has already provided much entertainment and learning!
With all the controversy (Parents of Hana Williams Found Guilty) out there about the Pearls and their book, To Train Up a Child, I was not going to touch this subject, but I just can't stop thinking about it! I know I am probably going to lose a few readers with this post, and I feel sad about that, but I feel that this is something that I have to say! In case you decide to leave a comment on this post, you should know that any nasty comments will be deleted! I don't care which side of the discussion you are on, if you are going to comment on this post, it must be done respectfully! Having said that, here is my experience with Michael and Debi Pearl's book, To Train Up a Child.
The kids and I have so many projects on the go right now that it's hard to keep it all straight sometimes! I have shared some of our projects with you before. As they are ongoing projects, I thought I would show you how they are progressing.
Last week I took a break from blogging. Since it was Easter, I called it my Easter break :) This post is heavy on the pictures, as I promised to take lots of pictures to show you why I was too busy to blog last week :) We had a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy our pictures too!
I love creation science, but have so much to learn about it! I enjoy learning along with my children and one great resource I have found for helping us learn about science from a biblical perspective is Creation Science 4 Kids. Cheri Fields, the author / publisher of Creation Science 4 Kids, has a knack for making creation science easier for people like my kids and I to understand! I enjoy reading her posts and I asked her if she would be willing to do a guest post so I could share what she has to say with you :) I hope you enjoy her post and take the time to visit her blog to see what other great things she has to say!
